Primary School Curriculum Music Teacher
We are looking for a dynamic musician and educator to become an integral part of a thriving music culture at a West London primary school. The role will involve delivering weekly music curriculum lessons to all year groups, from Nursery to Year 6, in a 2-form primary school. In addition to weekly sessions in term-time, you will be tasked with preparing and delivering concerts and performances throughout the year.
The right candidate will maintain and exceed the school’s excellent music tradition, and follow Pelican and the school’s ethos of providing quality music tuition to all students. Pelican have curated their own curriculum, which adheres to the guidelines set out by the National primary music curriculum, and which the candidate will be expected to follow and provide evidence.
Responsibilities:
- Weekly class music sessions from Nursery to Year 6
- Liaising with other Pelican teachers (e.g. orchestra leader and 1:1 instrumental tuition teachers) to provide musical opportunities for students
- Working with the school to amalgamate the music curriculum with the cross curriculum used throughout the school
- Running and managing termly school concerts and other performances
- Representing Pelican Music within the school
- Attending CPD sessions provided by school (INSET days) and/or Pelican
- Learning and delivering the Pelican Music curriculum
- Providing evidence (lesson planning, recordings) that lessons adhere to OFSTED and national primary music curriculum requirements
