IMB Presents: The 55th Masterclass and Final Concert in Berlin:

Symphonic Journey Vol. XI

“London-Vienna”
A week of classical masterpieces with Colin Metters

Prof. Colin Metters (IMB, Royal Academy of Music, London)
Berlin Sinfonietta
Haydn, Mozart, Schubert

May 13th – 18th 2024
Berlin, Germany

After more than fifty successful masterclasses in the past 10 years, IMB, under the direction of its founder and Artistic Director, Gil Raveh, have established itself as one of the world’s leading organization for conducting masterclass, with hundreds of participating conductors from all over the globe.

In our philosophy the conducting participants and their overall masterclass’ experience and their stay in Berlin is, and always will be the central core of the masterclass, its planning and its organization. We are presenting a week of intensive learning, of transformation and growth with leading teachers, all in a uncompetitive – friendly and very supportive atmosphere, located in the heart of Berlin, in the highest organizational and teaching standards, assuring the most rewarding masterclass’ experience.  With the Berlin Sinfonietta, our exclusive partner for more than 10 years, we have created a unique space for these experiences to take place in, making it to be a one of a kind setting for advancing the art of conducting and the never-ending exploration of the most musically challenging masterpieces.

NEW! Even more inspiration with IMB and Prof. Metters:

“Great music to inspire us all, with ongoing challenges, musically and technically for the conductors; it presents a great week of music making for all.”  Prof. Colin Metters

IMB has always valued its collaboration with Maestro Colin Metters, recognized internationally as one of today’s outstanding teachers of conducting. Over long years of successful collaboration with Maestro Metters, have developed, improved and produced one of a kind learning environment where we allow more time for his teachings and methods to be imparted to all of the students in the most effective way.

Our latest addition: Within the masterclass schedule, under the title: Inspiration – Demonstration – Revelation Colin Metters (with pianist) will lead the group of conductors, active and auditors, through an innovative and interactive hours of open discussion and demonstration exploring the musical and technical challenges of the great masterpieces on the program: Haydn 104th, Mozart’s Jupiter, Schubert 5th Symphonies and more.

Through his own unique approach and insight, Maestro Metters will show and demonstrate the physical language of gesture and the technique involved in making these amazing scores a living musical reality for the orchestra players through the art of conducting.

Don’t miss the opportunity to take part in this interactive seminar as participant or auditor and experience first hand Colin Metters’ ability to Inspire, Reveal and Demonstrate through his own very personal and very special way of teaching.

Here are just few of feedbacks we have received after our latest masterclasses with Prof. Metters in 2022/23:
