Chamber Music America’s 2025 Ensemble of the Year, Houston-based APOLLO CHAMBER PLAYERS is a “dynamic ensemble creating programs in response to current events” (NPR) that “recasts music for a diverse and multi-ethnic generation” (Strings Magazine). Apollo has performed for sold-out audiences at Carnegie Hall, The Kennedy Center, and it is featured frequently on APM’s Performance Today. Having commissioned 60 new works, and releasing 7 commercial albums the past decade, Apollo’s roster of composers and collaborators includes Jennifer Higdon, John Corigliano, Jerod Tate, Adolphus Hailstork, Lara Downs and actor George Takei, among others.

Released by the Grammy-winning Azica Records, Apollo's With Malice Toward None album soared to No. 1 on Amazon’s 'Hot New Release' chart. Additionally, the ensemble’s catalog has been featured on numerous radio and media outlets around the world. Apollo enriches the cultural landscape of Houston through programs at schools, hospitals, centers for refugees and at-risk youth, and community projects like Library Voyage, a first-in-the-nation initiative to perform at all Houston area public libraries.
