Baroque Opera Academy: L'Orontea (Cesti)

Ensemble OrQuesta’s second 2027 Opera Academy features a new production of Cesti’s L’Orontea.
Rehearsals take place in Hastings and London, culminating in two fully staged performances at The Cockpit, London, accompanied by Ensemble OrQuesta Baroque. Roles may be double cast, but each Academy singer will perform their complete role in at least one performance.
Singers receive coaching in Baroque vocal style, interpretation, recitative, movement and stagecraft, led by Artistic Director Marcio da Silva and harpsichordist Predrag Gosta.
Roles: Orontea, Tibrino, Silandra, Giacinta (Sopranos); Alidoro (Countertenor/Haute-Contre); Creonte (Baritone); Corindo (Countertenor/Mezzo); Aristea (Mezzo); Gelone (Tenor).
Tuition: £1,000 per role; instalments available. Accommodation not included.
