The job
In addition to playing symphonic works in the orchestra, you will be available for (educational and outreach) activities and stage performances in smaller ensembles. Section leaders also have tasks that contribute to the orchestra organization in general, such as serving on an audition committee, promoting good collegial cooperation, leading the group, and acting as a sparring partner for management with regard to artistic or personnel issues concerning their own group or the orchestra.
Requirements for the position
It goes without saying that you are a distinguished trombonist. You possess leadership qualities that will allow you to inspire the section and create synergy, both artistically and within the section as a whole. In your role you will contribute towards the orchestra's overall artistic quality, and you will be
involved in literally "setting the tone" as ambassador for the orchestra. In addition to your podium activities in the section you find it important to cooperate in educational and community projects and activities, as well as ensemble work. You are a positive, engaged section leader who can strike the right balance between individuality and teamwork.

The audition for the position will be held on Monday 19 and Tuesday 20 January 2026.
Compulsory repertoire:
• David - Concertino, op. 4 (1st movement);
• Tomasi - Concerto (1st movement);
• Yet to be determined orchestral excerpts;
• Chamber music (still to be determined) to be performed in the final round of the audition with members of the Residentie Orkest.
