A violin bow by Gordon Bailey, England, c.1970-1980. This was last owned by a Royal Opera violinist, and was also previously owned in the LSO.

Mounted in Gold, with a length of 744mm and a weight of 59.9g. It is stamped “G.E. Bailey” twice on the handle and “897” on the gold underslide.

Gordon Bailey was trained by Percival Bryant, who worked with the George Withers & Son shop in London. The bow has nice dark pernambuco, and beautiful metalwork in the button. The stick is strong, comfortable and well balanced. It is a extremely serviceable for highest-standards orchestral playing.

The bow is in excellent condition and presentation, with just some general wear commensurate of age and use. It is being sold below retail value
