Violin:
Violin by John Wilkinson, London, circa 1920-1930
Prezzo: £14,000
This violin is an excellent example by John Wilkinson, made for Beare, Goodwin &
Son in imitation of George Craske circa 1920-1930 owing to the heavy demand
for Craske instruments sold by the firm of W.E. Hill & Sons at the time. Craskes
were generally considered to be a good instrument for someone who needed an
old Italian violin but could not afford one. The seller played this violin throughout their professional training at the Royal Academy of Music. It would be best suited to an advanced student, particularly those looking to take advanced grades and/or audition for conservatories.
Note from the seller: I have loved playing this violin immensely for over 10 years. It has seen me through my teenage years, through all my musical training and well into the music profession. I will be very sorry to part with it and very much hope it finds a wonderful new home where it will be enjoyed.
