Amateur English cello, c. 1850

Beautiful, likely English, handmade cello circa 1850. 29 inch back length. Produces a gorgeous, warm sound and is in perfect condition with no further work required. Purchased from Peter Hall Violins, in Beverley, in 2017. Comes with a hard case (worth £450) and two bows, one of which is worth £400.

The cello has been valued at £4,500 by both Peter Hall Violins and Kevin George at The Violin Shop, in Poulton-le-Fylde (who can also vouch for its condition). With the case and bows included, this is an extremely good value package price.

Selling only as I sadly no longer play. I am based in London (Hackney, E9) but the cello is currently at my family home in Lancaster. I am happy to sell to a buyer who can collect from either of these locations. Also very happy for any interested purchasers to come and try the cello before buying.
