Double Bass:
Early 20thC German Bass 3/4
Prezzo: £8000
Flat back
Has a removable mechanical Barnaby C extension fitted by Martyn Bailey which works very well
The bass has various stabilised old cracks which have remained solid through much use and over the years have been checked over by the late, great Roger Dawson and also Martyn Bailey. None of them have caused me any issues in the 14 years I’ve owned the instrument.
Comes with a Tom and Will case and a premium leather bow quiver.
It has a punchy but dark sound which projects really well and articulates nicely under the bow.
I have used this bass for freelance professional and semi-professional orchestral and pit playing and its previous owner used it as a touring instrument with the major London orchestras. Would suit a conservatoire student, a young professional or make a fine second instrument for an established orchestral professional.
Located in Suffolk.
