The RTWSO is an extremely well-established, thriving pro-am orchestra at the heart of the South East’s cultural community. We present an annual season of six concerts from October through to April at the Assembly Hall Theatre, Tunbridge Wells (audience capacity 922), frequently performing ambitious programmes with internationally renowned soloists. A detailed record of previous programmes, soloists and conductors can be seen on our website. Founded in 1922, we are proud to have recently celebrated our Centenary season.

The orchestra is made up of c.45 local non-professional members who rehearse weekly, and a further c.35 professional orchestral players drawn from London and the South East who join us on concert day.

Rehearsals are held on Friday evenings from 7 – 10pm in Langton Green, Tunbridge Wells. Additionally there is a morning rehearsal from 10.30 – 1.30 on the day of each concert. The six concerts usually take place on the first Sunday of October, November, December, February, March and April, at 3pm in the Assembly Hall Theatre, Tunbridge Wells.
