IMPORTANT INFO FOR FOREIGN NATIONALS:

To substitute with the New World Symphony (NWS), you must already be authorized to work in the United States (e.g., Green Card, O-1 visa, or F-1 with CPT/OPT authorized by your school). NWS does not petition visas for substitute work.

Video Requirements:
• 2–3 minutes of a solo work (or exposition of a standard concerto/sonata)
• Four contrasting orchestral excerpts of your choice

Excerpts do not need to be selected from NWS’ posted fellowship repertoire lists. (Those lists apply to fellowship applicants only.) Some instruments have specific requirements—see Acceptd for details.

Results and further information will be emailed as soon as possible after submission. If invited to join the substitute list, status remains active for 12 months from the date of notification.

NWS limits the size of its substitute pool. Substitute musicians may be engaged to augment the orchestra for larger repertoire or to cover absences during the season. When engaged, NWS provides airfare, housing (if needed), and a stipend. Musicians are responsible for ensuring availability and securing any necessary institutional approvals if currently enrolled in school.

New York Carnegie Hall debut!

GOLDEN CLASSICAL MUSIC AWARDS INTERNATIONAL COMPETITION

Our aim is to encourage young musicians to perform and grow professionally. Given the great success of the last two editions which, due to restrictions imposed internationally to contain covid 19 contagion, took place online with the participation of more than 1,800 competitors from four continents, the organisation has decided to maintain its worldwide presence in the future. Hope to confirm the success of the past editions and to create a unique cultural event where musicians from around the world share their talent and get recognized for their accomplishments.
