Maghull Wind Orchestra Composition Competition (free entry)

Our online wind orchestra and choir composition competition is now open to composers aged 16–25 who live, study, or work in the North West of England.
This exciting opportunity offers young composers the chance to have their music brought to life by 400 performers at a spectacular massed band and choir concert, taking place on Tuesday 3 November 2026 at Liverpool Anglican Cathedral.
Shortlisted finalists will be invited to an exclusive composition workshop with MWO on Saturday 20 June 2026. This workshop will give you the invaluable chance to work directly with real musicians, receive expert feedback from our panel of judges; Bill Connor, Mitch Holland and Adam Dutch, and further develop your piece in a supportive, creative environment.
If you are ready to put your music in the spotlight and move forward in your composing journey, we are excited to hear from you and cannot wait to discover the music you will create.
