3rd Zsófia Tallér Contemporary International Composer Competition
18 Nov 2024 - 10 Feb 2025
The Tallér Zsófia International Composer Competition returns in 2025, honoring the legacy of Zsófia Tallér, an Erkel, Bartók-Pásztory, and Artisjus Award-winning composer and professor.
This third edition invites composers under 35 to create an original mixed choir choral piece, 4-5 minutes long, inspired by Tallér’s Odi et Amo, a setting of Catullus’s famous poem. Participants may use Odi et Amo solely as inspiration and cannot incorporate material from the original.
Works can be in Hungarian, English, Latin, German, or Italian. Scores must be submitted anonymously in PDF format, along with an MP3 recording (MIDI or live performance).
The winner will receive €1000, and their piece will be performed by the Pax et Bonum Choir at the Sofianetta Festival gala.
Grab this unique opportunity to share your talent and have your work celebrated on an international stage.
