Queille Quartet Masterclasses
12 - 18 Apr, 2026
Join Jon Thorne, distinguished British violist and Professor at the Royal Academy of Music, for an inspiring week of Quartet Masterclasses at the beautiful Château de Queille — a secluded haven of creativity nestled among the hills of southern France.
A week of music, reflection and artistry
Over six days, participants will explore the full depth of quartet playing — tone, texture, ensemble awareness, and interpretation — in an environment designed to nourish both artistry and imagination.
Morning and afternoon sessions take place in the historic light-filled spaces of Chateau Queille, surrounded by its tranquil gardens and ancient stone walls in the foothills of the Pyrenees. Evenings are informal and convivial: conversation, shared meals, and music made for pleasure.
Whether you are preparing for an international competition, wanting to take your quartet playing and understanding to another level, or would merely relish an inspiring week away playing the best chamber music.
