Stauffer Masterclass | Philip Setzer

Philip Setzer, violinist and founding member of the Emerson String Quartet, has been praised by The Strad for his “undimmed ferocity” and expressive intensity. His deep connection with Shostakovich’s music has inspired theatrical projects such as The Noise of Time and Shostakovich and the Black Monk: A Russian Fantasy.

The Masterclass with Philip Setzer is primarily intended for already established string quartets. If there are available spots, already formed chamber music groups with piano (from trio to quintet) may also be admitted.

Tuition fees are fully covered by the Stauffer Foundation.
