Choir pianist and repetiteur for the Netherlands Radio Choir
(Teilzeit)
Stichting Omroep Muziek (SOM) is looking for a Choir pianist and répétiteur
0,7 FTE
The Role
As the pianist of the Netherlands Radio Choir you will play a crucial role in its productions. You will support the rehearsal process, accompany the choir and its singers during concerts, recordings and auditions where necessary.
We are looking for a pianist who has:
- An exceptional level of piano playing and experience accompanying choral rehearsals
- Experience working with professional choirs, ensembles, and various conductors
- Flexibility and willingness to follow different conductors and support them in realising their vision
- Excellent score-reading skills, including orchestral scores and opera repertoire
- The abiltiy to lead sectional rehearsals
- Familiarity with both contemporary and classical choral repertoire, in particular the choir’s own repertoire
- Affinity with classically-trained singers
- A flexible approach within a dynamic working environment
- Strong teamwork and communication skills
- A good command of both Dutch and English

Selection Process
Selecting the right colleague requires time and care. The process will include:
- An introductory interview
- Participation in a production of the Netherlands Radio Choir during the 2025-2026 season
- Possible additional steps, such as leading sectional rehearsals and playing for auditions
- The final selection will be made based on these assessments, with the successful candidate being confirmed by June 2026.
Our primary recruitment focus is on candidates from the EU/EEA/Switzerland or candidates with a valid residence permit stating there are no restrictions on employment in the Netherlands.
