The BCO and Music Director Robert Moody announce auditions for the orchestra's Bassoon 2. To apply, submit an application by no later than Friday, January 30, 2026. Live auditions will take place at the BCO’s offices in Towson, MD on Monday, March 23, 2026. If you are selected to audition, a member of BCO’s staff or the audition committee will contact you via email with more details about the audition.
The BCO is a professional per-service orchestra performing 5-6 concerts each season scheduled between the months of September – May. Employment for the position begins in September 2026. The BCO and its Players’ Committee recently ratified a 4-year Collective Bargaining Agreement covering the 4 seasons between the Fall of 2025 and the Spring of 2029 that will increase the orchestra’s base pay rate by 13% over the agreement’s term. The base pay rate per service over each season is as follows: 2026-27 Season: $115.50; 2027-28 Season: $120.12; 2028-29 Season: $124.92.
