Video audition Clarinet and clarinet + basso
Audition Procedure
● First Round – Video Audition
● The audition is conducted by video recording only.
● The recording must be one continuous take, with no cuts, edits, or post-production.
● The solo (Mozart Concerto) may be submitted as a separate video from the orchestral excerpts.
● All orchestral excerpts must be performed in one continuous, uninterrupted take.
● No pauses, cuts, or edits are permitted between orchestral excerpts.
● The order of the orchestral excerpts is at the candidate’s discretion.
● High-quality audio is required
● Candidates should choose an acoustically suitable space, avoid excessive reverberation, and maintain an appropriate distance from the microphone.
● The candidate must be clearly visible in the frame (upper body or full body including the instrument).
● No audio or video post-production is permitted (including equalization, reverb, sound enhancement, or video editing).
● Piano accompaniment for the solo is optional and at the candidate’s discretion.
● Tuning: A = 442 Hz.
● The orchestral excerpts are attached to this audition announcement.
Second Round – Online Video Interview
Candidates who successfully pass the video audition will be invited to a short online video interview with representatives of State Opera Plovdiv (management, artistic leadership, and/or section principals).
Additional Information
● Final candidates may be offered a trial period prior to appointment, depending on artistic needs and scheduling.
● The position involves regular participation in opera and symphonic productions.
● Professional reliability, stylistic versatility, and strong ensemble skills are essential.
Format: Zoom / Microsoft Teams / similar platform
Duration: approximately 15–20 minutes
Language: English/Bulgarian
