Audition Information
Date: The evening of Tuesday, April 28, 2026
Location: Johnny Carson Theater at the Lied Center for the Performing Arts
301 N 12th St (entrance on N 11th St)
Information about LSO
- With a budget of $1.3M, LSO presents a season between September-May consisting of 7 classical concerts (6 full orchestra plus one chamber orchestra), 2 family concerts, and 2 pops concerts, in addition to a wide range of educational activities.
- LSO musicians are governed by a Collective Bargaining Agreement with the Lincoln Musicians' Association Local No. 463, American of Federation of Musicians.
- Principal Timpani is an "A Contract" position, with 46 guaranteed services per season.
- The principal per-service rate for the current season is $148.96. Travel reimbursement for players who reside outside of Lancaster County is $0.35 per mile, Players who reside farther away are negotiated on an individual basis (max $250/concert).
- LSO does not provide lodging assistance for out-of-town musicians.
Notes about the Principal Timpani Position
LSO's concert timpani will be provided: Clevelander timpani with Dresden pedals, American set-up.
