For sale is a historical Heckel 4xxx Basson made in Germany in 1900. Heckel Bassoons are one of the oldest wooden instrument making workshops in the world. The Heckel bassoons are the stuff of legends used by more orchestra professionals than any other bassoon, the sound of an older Heckel is unlike anything else in the bassoon world. Although the bassoon has been around for hundreds of years, the modern German-system bassoon was invented by Heckel around 1870.

This Heckel is an early 4xxx series bassoon and wood be a perfect addition to any wind or woodwind collection. This is a beautiful and historic antique Heckel and goes without saying that this instrument would need an overhaul and restoration including a crack repair in the boot.
