Recorder Teacher

We are seeking to appoint an inspirational recorder teacher with an enthusiastic and inclusive approach to educating young musicians.
We are keen to appoint someone who, in addition to a notable performing portfolio, has experience teaching students from beginner to post Grade 8 levels and a passion for working with younger students in their early stages of learning. The successful candidate will be confident teaching individuals, small-groups and ensembles.
This role currently involves delivering 2 hours of individual tuition, 1.5 hours of small group tuition and 75 minutes of ensemble tuition, most of which is delivered as part of our Primary Years Programme (see below).
Our music centre is based at Morley College, near London Waterloo, and teaching takes place on 10 Saturdays per term.
CYM offers music provision to talented young people from all backgrounds in a thriving musical environment. As a D of E Centre for Advanced Training, CYM is a key provider of instrumental, vocal and ensemble tuition in London.

About the Primary Years Programme (PYP)
The CYM Primary Years Programme aims to equip children with the skills, knowledge and understanding they need to become exceptional musicians. Delivered by a team of specialist tutors, our 4-year progressive programme draws inspiration from the esteemed Kodaly and Dalcroze teaching methods and beyond.
Through engaging group activities that embrace singing, playing, creating, listening and moving, students are introduced to the building blocks of music that shape the world around them. Vocal based learning in Year 1 broadens to include instrumental learning from Year 2 onwards. Additionally, students develop language and communication skills, grow in confidence and learn to express themselves in a fun and nurturing environment.
