Professor of Violin - 50 % position

The vacancy is a permanent, 50 percent position available from 1st of August 2026. The subject area for the position is violin. Responsibilities include teaching and supervision of students, artistic development work, and administrative tasks related to the academic activities.
In addition to teaching and supervision of violin, the position includes chamber music for the bachelor’s and master’s programs in accordance with current curricula. Tuition will be given both as individual guidance and in groups. The position may also involve teaching at lower educational levels and supervisory tasks at PhD level. The position will include a particular focus on orchestral playing and preparation for auditions, and may also involve conducting orchestra rehearsals, etc.
It is expected that the appointee will take initiative, plan, and lead seminars and courses in collaboration with other faculty members within the subject area. The candidate will also participate in the preparation and execution of the Academy’s entrance tests and examinations.
The Professor of violin is expected to be present at the Academy on a weekly basis.
The Professor of Violin is expected to maintain a high artistic level through active artistic work and participation in various artistic or pedagogical research and development projects. The appointee is expected to contribute actively to strengthening R&D and the academic environment at the Academy, in line with the institution's strategic objectives. It is expected that R&D resources in the position are used systematically and primarily directed towards institution-relevant projects.
The appointed candidate will participate in academic administrative tasks within their subject area and the Academy in general.
