Professor of classical violin

The appointed professor must be able to provide education and training of violinists up to the highest level within major subject studies, instrumental pedagogy, chamber music and ensemble playing. The professor is expected to carry out artistic research and educational development projects, both on their own initiative and as initiated by the Academy’s management.

The professor will lead the violin department at the Academy and head the department’s development, including work on talent development initiatives and activities within the national and international educational pipeline.

Chamber music is a strategic focus area at RAMA. The violin professor is expected to collaborate with the cello professor, who holds overall responsibility for the string-specific chamber music, in achieving the strategic goal of “innovative chamber music”, including work with particularly talented students.

RAMA aims to strengthen collaboration across electronic, jazz/pop and classical programmes. The professor is therefore expected to be open to cooperation across all departments.
