Music Library Assistant

We are currently recruiting for a Music Library Assistant to join our Music Library team to assist in the preparation, distribution and archiving of sheet music for all Glyndebourne activities

Key Tasks and Responsibilities

- To issue vocal scores, monitor current loans and reshelve all returned loans
- To develop and maintain the digital bowing master and materials archive.
- To maintain the music library contacts and loans database.
- Responsibility for the provision of office materials
- To administer hires out of materials and instruments
- To provide assistance as required with provision of information to the Company and to field day-to-day library enquiries.
- To provide assistance as required with pit setting for rehearsals and performances.
- To carry out any other administrative or librarian tasks as required.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

Essential

- A music degree or equivalent qualification / experience
- Knowledge of opera / classical music repertoire (orchestral experience desirable)
- Flexibility and ability to organise and prioritise work
- Consistent high level of customer care
- Experience in digitisation and archiving

Desirable

- Basic Word, Excel and Google office suite
- Previous Music Library experience / library experience
- Knowledge of French, German and Italian
- Knowledge of a music setting program e.g. Sibelius/Dorico
