Chetham’s School of Music are seeking an Instrumental Tutor (Organ) to join the internationally renowned specialist music school located in Manchester city centre. Chetham’s is a magical place, home to the UK’s largest specialist music school, the oldest library in the English speaking world and a world-class concert venue all in the heart of Manchester.

The Job

We are seeking an exceptional tutor of organ with proven pedagogical experience at the highest of standards. You will be committed to the education and musical development of talented young people (aged 8-18).

This role will work primarily in support of our principal organ tutor, with hours focused initially upon second and tertiary study students. The ideal candidate will have a significant depth of experience in developing students’ holistic musical education.

Chetham’s believes in creating robust, rounded and relevant musicians of the future. We value tutors who share our aim to support students in achieving musical and personal breadth, in tandem with technical proficiency.

This role is initially for 4 hours per week, starting September 2025 (subject to recruitment checks).

Candidates will need to be flexible with regards to hours, which necessarily change annually dependent upon student intake.
