Announces the following vacancy:
PRINCIPAL OBOE
All candidates have the choice of playing a live preliminary audition in New York or sending a recording of your preliminary audition. The repertoire is the same for both options. You will be asked to indicate your preference between a live or recorded preliminary audition when submitting your application.
Due to the limited availability of David Geffen Hall, some applicants who wish to play a live preliminary audition may be asked to submit a recorded audition. If we cannot accommodate a live audition, we will notify you by Thursday, March 5, 2026.
Application Deadline: Tuesday, February 24, 2026
Deadline to Submit Recorded Preliminary Audition: Thursday, April 2, 2026
Live Preliminary Auditions: Saturday, April 11 and Sunday, April 19, 2026
Semi-Final Auditions: Saturday, May 2, 2026
Final Auditions: Monday, May 4, 2026
Employment will commence by mutual agreement based upon the winning candidate’s availability and the New York Philharmonic schedule.
Base scale is $190,698 for the 52-week 2025-2026 season.
