A fine English violin made in Manchester in 1879, bearing its original label, with the original neck and scroll. The oil varnish of a lustrous deep red brown, the back in one piece of richly figured English sycamore with ribs and scroll of similar wood. The f-holes cut in typical Mayson style. The tone is even and carries well.
