Marigaux Oboe d'amore
Precio: £3750
I have decided that I am going to sell my oboe d’amore, it was bought on somewhat of a whim in 2024 and sits in a cupboard for most of the year. It’s had a full overhaul and was checked over by a repair technician yesterday (02.01.2026). It’s lovely and I enjoy it but seems a little unnecessary at the moment.
It has an interesting history and is most likely a post war prototype, see the picture of the email from Marigaux, which I have also translated into English. It is dual system, has a third octave key in the conservatoire position and a thumb plate has been added. It has been fully automatic, but operates as semi-automatic and there is a left-hand C# rather, rather than a left hand/long F.
It plays well and comes in a Marcus Bonna case bought from Howarth’s at the end of 2024 and comes complete with the crook it was supplied with, (a no. 3) and one that I bought, the gold Howarth XL No. 1. I think I bought this in early 2025 or possibly late 2025.
