Double Bass:
Deutscher Kontrabass, ca. 150 Jahre alt

It is with a heavy heart that I am parting with my German double bass, which features a beautiful original reddish-brown finish.
The two-piece, fine-grained top is made of spruce; the back (two-piece), sides, and neck are made of maple. All parts of the bass are original (including the tailpiece and fingerboard).
The tuners were likely replaced at some point with old tuners that are also faithful to the original. The bass is in very good, restored condition.
The double bass was restored in 2019 by Alain Herard at a cost of approximately €2,000. Last week, the double bass was at Alain Herard’s workshop in Berlin for a setup—it plays beautifully.
The double bass is available for a trial in Berlin-Neukölln. Shipping is not available; it must be picked up in person. The double bass is sold as-is and does not include a case or any other accessories.
