Associate Professor of Percussion (Multi-Setup and/or Melodic Percussion)

The position is permanent and has an initial scope of 80 percent of a full-time position. It may also be possible to split the position into two, with one position at 20 percent and one at 50 percent. The position is vacant from 1st of August 2025.
The subject area of the position is percussion, with specializations in multi-setup and/or melodic percussion. Responsibilities include teaching and supervising students, research and development work (R&D), and administrative tasks related to the academic activities in the department. The successful candidate is expected to actively contribute to strengthening artistic and academic collaboration among colleagues.
Applicants are asked to specify whether they are applying for a 20, 50, or 80 percent position and to indicate whether they are applying for a position in melodic percussion, multi-setup, or both. A position at 50 or 80 percent will involve a fixed proportion dedicated to research and development work (R&D), while a position at 20 percent will be purely a teaching position.
Responsibilities include teaching and supervising percussion and chamber music within bachelor’s and master’s programs in accordance with current curricula. Instruction will be provided both as individual guidance and in groups. The position may also include teaching responsibilities for younger age groups, other teaching tasks the incumbent is qualified for, and supervision at the doctoral level.
It is expected that the appointee will take the initiative to plan and lead seminars and courses within their field in collaboration with other faculty members. The individual will also participate in the preparation and execution of the Academy’s entrance tests and examinations.
The Associate Professor in percussion is expected to maintain a high artistic level, primarily through their own artistic activities and participation in artistic and/or pedagogical research and development projects.
