Royal Conservatoire Antwerp

Principal Study Harp Teacher

The School of Arts Royal Conservatoire of Antwerp (AP University College Antwerp) invites applications for a teaching assignment in Principal Study Harp (Classical Music), starting in September 2026.
We are looking for an artist-teacher with a strong professional profile as a harpist. The successful candidate is active as a soloist, chamber musician, or orchestral/ensemble performer and is engaged with both the classical and contemporary repertoire. A solid artistic track record, including performances on recognised national and international stages and relevant recordings, is expected.
The position combines artistic practice with higher arts education. The selected candidate will train and guide harp students through individual and group lessons, rehearsals, artistic projects and, where relevant, artistic research. The role requires a strong pedagogical commitment, the ability to inspire and motivate students, and an openness to collaboration within interdisciplinary and educational projects.
Candidates have a clear pedagogical vision and are willing to contribute to the artistic and academic environment of the Royal Conservatoire of Antwerp. Familiarity with the Belgian music landscape and educational context is an advantage.
Applicants must live or work in Belgium, or be willing to do so, and must have a good command of Dutch and English (or be willing to develop this). Candidates must hold European nationality or a valid work permit for Belgium.
Applications (motivation letter, CV including concerts and recordings, references and pedagogical statement) must be submitted by 29 March 2026. Shortlisted candidates will be invited for a screening on 19 May 2026, including a recital, teaching demonstration and interview.
