Liepāja Symphony Orchestra
Liepāja Symphony Orchestra is the oldest orchestra in the Baltic States. It was started in 1881, when the first Philharmonic in the Baltics was established, and hence celebrates already its 144th anniversary this year. The establisher Hanss Hohapfel was also a conductor of the Orchestra at the time.

The establisher Hanss Hohapfel was also a conductor of the Orchestra at the time.
Today it is the residing orchestra of Liepāja's unique and wonderful Concert Hall "Lielais dzintars" (Great Amber), regularly tours Latvia and abroad. Since autumn 2022 the Principal Conductor as well as the Artistic Director is a versatile musician - a conductor and a clarinetist Guntis Kuzma. During the past decade Liepāja Symphony Orchestra has made significant recordings with Toccata Classics, Wergo, Skani, and Odradek. It has received numerous national music awards and is best described by its passionate play and unique amber sound.
