New World Symphony
Founded in 1987 by Michael Tilson Thomas and now led by Artistic Director Stéphane Denève, the New World Symphony (NWS) is internationally recognized for its innovative performances and artist development. NWS offers a three-year fellowship combining orchestral performance, professional training, and community engagement for outstanding early-career musicians.

Benefits include:
• Stipend: $640/week for 35 weeks (2025–26 season) to support living expenses.
• Housing: Fully furnished private apartment provided by NWS.
• Audition Leave: Paid time off for three auditions per year (with additional unpaid leave available).
• Visiting Faculty: Regular lessons and masterclasses with world-class guest artists, selected in part by Fellows.
• Travel Grant: $350 relocation assistance for new Fellows.
• Instrument Coverage: Primary-instrument insurance included; optional low-cost add-ons available.
• Instrument Loans: No-interest loans available until completion of the fellowship.
• Professional Development Fund: Supports audition travel, private coaching, or wellness initiatives (gym, massage, performance psychology, etc.).
• BLUE (Leadership & Entrepreneurship): Hands-on training in innovation, project design, and arts leadership with funding for Fellow-led initiatives.
• Community Engagement: Teaching, outreach, and online mentorship programs developing communication and educational skills while serving the Miami community.
• International Fellows: NWS welcomes applicants from around the world and will sponsor F-1 student visas for those offered fellowships.
NWS is an accredited institutional member of the National Association of Schools of Music and offers Fellows a uniquely immersive environment to grow as artists, educators, and leaders in today’s orchestral world.
