Santander Encounter of Music and Academy

Every year, in July, the city of Santander and Cantabria, in the north of Spain, host the Santander Encounter of Music and Academy. Under the artistic direction of Márta Gulyás and Luis Fernando Pérez, brings together great international musicians and teachers with a select group of young talents from around the world, selected through auditions. With all travel, accommodation and daily allowances covered by the organization, the students enjoy master classes with their teachers and an intense calendar of rehearsals and concerts. In its 2026 edition, the Encounter will feature an extensive line-up of maestros: Mihaela Martin and Nora Chastain (violin); Maxim Rysanov (viola); Frans Helmerson (cello); Paolo Taballione (flute); Lucas Macías (oboe); Matthew Hunt (clarinet); Amy Harman (bassoon); Radovan Vlatković (horn); Péter Nagy (piano), and Bernarda Fink (voice). In its 2026 edition, the Encounter will feature Maestro Jaime Martín as guest conductor of the orchestra.
