Audition – Principal French Horn

State Opera Plovdiv is holding an audition for a full-time Principal French Horn position in its orchestra.

Eligibility Requirements:
A degree in music (higher or secondary education).
Experience and proficiency in ensemble performance.

Audition Repertoire:
1. Solo piece of choice with or without accompaniment
2. Concert of your choice by:
– Richard Strauss: Horn Concerto No. 1
or
– V. A. MOZART - Horn concerto No. 4, K. 495
3. Orchestral excerpts
- Bizet: Carmen Act 3 Nr.22
- Mahler: Symphony No. 4, 7 bars before Number 9 - Number 9.
- Puccini: Tosca Act 3: First 17 bars
- Ravel: Piano Concerto - Number 25 to Number 26
- Strauss: Don Juan //19 bars after D to 11 bars after E // 17 bars before O to 1 bar before P // Y - 4
bars before Z
- Tchaikowsky: Symphony No. 5, 2nd movement B. 8 - 28
- Verdi: Don Carlo - Overture B.1 - 26
