Audition – Principal French Horn | State Opera Plovdiv

State Opera Plovdiv is holding an audition for a full-time Principal French Horn position in its orchestra.

Eligibility Requirements:
• A degree in music (higher or secondary education).
• Experience and proficiency in ensemble performance.

Audition Details: Date: June 9, 2025
Time: To be announced
Venue: Chamber Hall, House of Culture “Boris Hristov”, Plovdiv, Center, ul. “Gladston” 15, 4000

Audition Repertoire:

A solo piece of your choice (with or without accompaniment).

A concerto selection (choose one) by:   
• R. Strauss – 1st Concerto   
• W.A. Mozart – 4th Concerto

Orchestral Excerpts:   
• W.A. Mozart – Così fan tutte   
• L.V. Beethoven – Symphony Nos. 3, 6, 7, and 8   
• G. Bizet – Carmen   
• G. Rossini – The Barber of Seville, Overture   
• V. Bellini – Puritani   
• J. Brahms – Symphony Nos. 1, 2, and 3   
• G. Puccini – Tosca   
• P.I. Tchaikovsky – excerpts from Symphony No. 5, Swan Lake, or Sleeping Beauty   
• R. Strauss – Till Eulenspiegel, Ein Heldenleben   
• M. Ravel – Pavane pour une infante défunte or the Concerto in G major for piano and orchestra   
• G. Mahler – Symphony Nos. 3, 4, and 5   
• R. Wagner – Siegfried (Call)
