WNO is seeking a Section Principal Flute to join its full-time contract orchestra, reporting to WNO's Orchestra Manager.

Audition Format:
Round 1:
• Please prepare the 1st Movement of the Mozart Concerto in D or G.
• Please prepare all excerpts in the PDF Booklet attached.
• This round will be screened.
• This round will be accompanied. WNO will provide the accompanist.

Round 2:
• Please prepare ‘Syrinx for Solo Flute’ by Debussy.
• Please prepare all excerpts in the PDF Booklet attached.
• This round will be unscreened.
• This round will be unaccompanied.

Round 3 (Orchestral):
• Please prepare all excerpts in the PDF Booklet attached.

Please note that if you are successful in progressing through the audition panel rounds, the orchestral round will be 1830-2130, therefore please prepare to be available all day.

Auditions will be held in Cardiff on 17 November, 20 November and 21 November 2025. Candidates will only be required for one of the three dates.

All successful candidates will be invited to audition by 24 October 2025.

In-person auditions are encouraged but video auditions will be considered upon request if invited to audition.
