Camerata Nordica, part of Kalmar Läns Musikstiftelse, announces the following position:
Co-Principal Viola and member of Camerata Nordica Chamber Ensemble
Permanent employment, full-time position
24 weeks (144 working days) per year
Rehearsals take place primarily in Kalmar, with administrative offices in both Kalmar and Oskarshamn
Starting January 2027 (or by agreement)
1. DIGITAL PRE-SELECTION
Candidates are invited to submit a video audition for digital pre-selection, together with a letter of motivation by the 5th of April 2026.
A simple phone recording is fully acceptable; no professional studio recording is required.
REPERTOIRE FOR DIGITAL AUDITION:
Two contrasting movements from a work by J.S. Bach for solo instrument
One movement (or the complete work) originally written for solo instrument from the 20th or 21st century
2. FINAL LIVE AUDITION
Participation in the live audition is by invitation only.
Selected candidates will be informed by the 10th of April 2026 and invited to a live public audition/concert in Kalmar on the 30th of May 2026
IMPOSED REPERTOIRE – VIOLA
A. Stamitz Viola concerto in D major op. 1– First movement including cadenza (free of choice)
Or
F. A. Hoffmeister Viola concerto in D major – First movement including cadenza (free of choice)
J. Brahms Clarinet Trio in A minor, Op. 114 – First movement
The live audition might also include a short interview, focusing on artistic profile, collaboration, and the role within Camerata Nordica.
For invited candidates, Camerata Nordica will:
Reimburse travel expenses up to 3,000 SEK against receipt,
Provide up to two nights of hotel accommodation in Kalmar.
Provide the pianist and cellist
