U.S. Navy Band - Soprano Vocalist

The United States Navy Band is seeking a soprano vocalist for an immediate opening in the Sea Chanters Chorus. To be considered for an audition, candidates must first apply online. Candidates will have the option to either participate in a live preliminary round on Monday, November 2, 2026 or submit a preliminary pre-screening recording in lieu of the live preliminary round. Subsequent rounds will take place Tuesday, November 3, 2026, for those that are called back to participate. Repertoire requirements can be found below.

Qualifications:

Successful candidates for this vacancy must demonstrate commanding stage presence, superior versatility, outstanding solo and choral technique, and advanced sight-reading ability.

Audition Timeline:

Monday, September 28, 2026: Optional pre-screening recordings are due by 11:59 p.m. EDT.

Monday, October 5, 2026: Pre-screening adjudication results will be sent to candidates.

Monday, October 19, 2026: All applications and scores are due by 11:59 p.m. EDT.

Monday - Tuesday, November 2-3, 2026: A live audition will be held in Washington, DC.

To register for this audition, complete the U.S. Navy Band Audition Application. You will be contacted by a Navy Band audition manager within two business to confirm receipt. At that time, you receive instructions for selecting your live or prerecorded preliminary round option. Do not submit recordings prior to receiving instructions to do so. Reply promptly to all correspondence.

Complete the online application with enough time to prepare and submit recordings using the instructions received from the Audition Manager.

Eligibility:
