Bassoon:

Heckel 78xx

Prix: US 33,000
Truly one-of-a-kind Heckel, #78xx, owned by Thom de Klerk, First Solo Bassoonist of the Concertgebouw Orchestra from 1935-1966. After de Klerk's passing, it was acquired by a colleague, and I've been the 3rd owner--(purchased 2007). To honor de Klerk, the 2nd owner had a series of plaques with their two names on it, one for each joint, but only one remains, and I had Keith Bowen place it on the bell joint. Completely overhauled and refinished, wood and metal, by Keith Bowen, and has been stored for a number of years. Silver Tone Hole inserts placed by Jim Keyes in 2016. This is Master Series Heckel instrument and--sound.
**Bell is original Ivory, "almost perfect". Sorry, no Bocals incl.
