Samuel Wells - 3/4 English Pattern Double Bass

3/4 size English double bass made by Samuel Wells, a student under Roger Dawson, which has a violin outline and flat back with a break. The instrument has an 'SW' logo on the back and is signed and dated 'no.3' on the inside. The double bass is of a dark brown spirit varnish and has C string extension. The back, neck, ribs and extension are made of European Maple and the front is made of European Spruce. Also has an adjustable bridge.

After playing this bass for many of my happiest years, I can say that this instrument packs a warm and beautiful punch. The larger bottom end enables the sound to carry like no other I've heard before. When I say this instrument is special, it is only one of few in the world and has been made with love by Sam who is a true master of the craft and a dear friend of mine.

I want this instrument, more than anything, to end up in the hands of someone who will truly appreciate the beauty and unique sound of this and make her sing for the years to come.
