Associate Professor of composition

The vacancy is a 50 percent position available for a fixed period of 6 years from 1st of August 2025.
The position's subject area is composition. The duties include teaching and supervising students, artistic and educational development work, and administrative tasks related to the academic activities of the section. The successful candidate is expected to actively collaborate with colleagues.
The responsibilities include teaching and supervision in compositional subjects, primarily within the bachelor programs, in accordance with current curricula. The tasks also involve teaching composition in continuing studies and talent development programs at the Academy. Instruction will be provided both as individual guidance and in groups. The employee is expected to take the initiative, plan and lead seminars and courses within their subject area, in collaboration with other teachers at the Academy, as well as initiating measures for recruitment. They will also participate in the preparation and implementation of the Academy's entrance tests and examinations.
The Associate Professor of composition will be expected to maintain a high artistic level, primarily through their own composition activities and through research and artistic and/or educational development projects. It is also expected that the employee actively contributes to strengthening the R&D work and the professional environment at the Academy in accordance with the Academy's strategic objectives. It will be expected that the R&D resource in the position is used in a planned and systematic manner and primarily directed towards projects of relevance for the Academy.
Administrative tasks connected with teaching or relevant to the subject area or to the Academy in general are an integral part of the duties of the position.
