St Paul's School
Self-employed Organist and Visiting Music Teacher - Organ
An opportunity has arisen for a self-employed organist to provide support to the Chapel
Choir (including playing for special services during the year). The weekly commitment is
Monday and Wednesday mornings (before 9am), for 2 hours a week, as well as special
services (such as Carol Services and Guest Evensongs).
There is also scope for the teaching of (and developing the teaching of) Organ to
individuals across St Paul’s School and St Paul’s Prep School. Visiting Music Teachers
(VMTs) are self-employed and the contract for provision of lessons is between parents
and the VMT. There are currently two confirmed organ students, with scope to increase
this number with recruitment. The current instrumental lesson teaching rate for
2025/26 is £37.42 per 35-minute lesson. VMT Service Agreements and arrangements for
instrumental lessons are managed by the Music School Manager (MSM), who acts as an
agent in making the contractual arrangements with parents
