Unnamed, German, 1800’s

Price: £13,000 (ONO)
This beautifully crafted Old German cello is unmarked, but after several trips to the Luthiers it’s known to be a German Lady cello and built around the 1800’s. I've had a new bridge fitted, which was built by the luthier, Tibor Semmelweis, who also recently did some work on the instrument. Tibor fitted a new sound post for a bigger, better sound, and a few cosmetic touch ups. The cello is also fitted with finetune pegs (these are modern pegs that have built in finetuners, allowing the cello to have a deeper and more open tone). It’s known as a lady cello - meaning the body is slightly slimmer than your average cello, however it still the measurement of a full sized instrument. I bought it when I was 16 (12 years ago) and I played it through my undergraduate and masters degree at the Royal Academy of Music. I love the instrument but sadly have to part ways with it.

I am happy for anyone who’s is interested in the instrument to take it out on loan for an agreed period of time.
