Associate Professor of Organ
(part-time, permanent)
This is a 50 percent permanent position, available from August 1, 2026.
The academic field of the position is organ, with a focus on solo performance and liturgical playing.
The responsibilities include teaching and supervising students, artistic development work, and administrative tasks related to the academic activities of the department. It is expected that the successful candidate will actively contribute to strengthening artistic and academic collaboration among colleagues.
Teaching and Supervision
The teaching responsibilities involve instruction and supervision in organ, with an emphasis on liturgical playing at the highest level in accordance with the current curriculum. The position may also include teaching in organ improvisation.
The majority of the teaching will take place within the Norwegian Academy of Music's bachelor's, master's, and continuing education programs, but the position may also involve other tasks, such as teaching in the Academy's talent development program. Teaching in other subjects may also be assigned, depending on the institution's needs and the qualifications of the appointee.
The successful candidate is expected to take the initiative and plan and lead seminars and courses within their field, in collaboration with other teachers in the discipline. This applies to both solo and liturgical organ playing as well as other academic disciplines.
The responsibilities also include teaching and supervising students, artistic development work, and administrative tasks related to the academic activities of the department. The successful candidate is also expected to actively engage in strategic efforts related to student recruitment, concert format development, dissemination, and collaboration with the professional field. The appointee will also participate in the preparation and implementation of the Academy's admissions and examinations. Regular presence at the institution is expect
