Tapiola Choir International Choral Composition Competition 2026

Tapiola Choir announces an international choral composition competition for youth and children’s choir. The competition is open for all applicants internationally and has no age limit. The aim of the competition is to find new and interesting compositions in two categories: a cappella for young voices (SSA+divisions) and a cappella + strings (SSA+strings, max. 15 players) The results of the competition will be announced in June 2026.
“The competition is a wonderful opportunity to continue Tapiola Choir’s longstanding tradition of co-operation with professional composers and to promote children’s choral music of the highest quality” says Pasi Hyökki, the Artistic Director of Tapiola Choir.
The chair of the jury will be Tapiola Choir’s Artistic Director Pasi Hyökki. Other members of the jury will be published later.
A total of 6,000 EUR will be awarded at the discretion of the jury. The jury also reserves the right not to distribute prizes.
