Discover the World through Art Song — in Kagurazaka, Tokyo.
The Basel International Lieder / Art Song Vocal Competition 2027 will welcome the world-renowned Lied pianist Prof. Hartmut Höll, together with distinguished jury members from Germany, China, Japan, and Ukraine.
In Kagurazaka, Tokyo — a district rich in history, culture, and the arts — singers from around the world are invited to explore the diverse traditions and artistic expression of Lieder and Art Song.
The competition offers a total prize fund of JPY 2,000,000, including a JPY 1,000,000 Grand Prix and a JPY 400,000 Schubert Lieder Prize, as well as prizes for Japanese, Italian, French, British & American, and Russian Art Songs.
Applications: October 25 – December 25, 2026
First & Second Rounds: Online Video Judging (YouTube)
Final Round: April 24, 2027
Venue: Ongaku no Tomo Hall, Kagurazaka, Tokyo, Japan
