Event Lead (Commission-Based)
$50,000 - $150,000 p/year
**Role Overview:**
tonebase is expanding into in-person music events, and we are seeking entrepreneurial Event Leads to manage this new venture. As an Event Lead, you’ll collaborate with tonebase's leadership and teams to plan, execute, and oversee events for music learners, such as festivals and masterclasses. You'll have access to tonebase’s vast network, marketing expertise, and vendor partnerships to ensure event success.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Plan and execute all event phases, from conception to on-site logistics.
- Manage event budgets, optimize costs, and work with vendors.
- Develop marketing strategies to drive ticket sales and sponsorships.
- Problem-solve on the fly during events to ensure smooth operations.
- Collaborate with various departments, including the CEO and content teams.
- Travel to and manage events in person.
**Preferred Experience:**
- Expertise in music event planning, with a background in organizing festivals or similar events.
- Experienced musician with a deep understanding of the music world and connections to top artists and educators.
- Ability to empathize with the music community and craft engaging programming.
**Qualities Needed:**
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and a problem solver.
- Entrepreneurial, self-driven, and able to take ownership of event success.
- Team player who thrives in a collaborative environment.
**Compensation Structure:**
This is a commission-based role with a 10% cut of the event profits, which increases once specific revenue thresholds are met. Typical events generate around $100,000 in gross sales, but profits vary based on how well costs are controlled.
