18th "Pablo Sorozabal" String Quartet Composition Competition

The Gipuzkoa provincial authority together with the Basque-Navarrese composers association “Musikagileak” is organising the 18th “Pablo Sorozabal” International String Quartet Composition Competition, aimed at promoting the creation of original music for string quartet.
Summary of the rules:
Participants: Composers of any nationality born on or after January 1, 1989.
Works: Original compositions, unpublished and not previously awarded, with a maximum duration of 20 minutes. Free style and technique.
Prize: A single prize of 3,000 euros net, with a diploma. The winning work will be premiered by the Quatour Béla in the Quincena Musical de San Sebastian and programmed in the XVII Circuit of Contemporary Music “Musikagileak” (year 2026).
Registration and deadline: Registrations must be made until August 31, 2025 exclusively through the following link: https://labur.eus/sorozabal.
