Announces an Assistant Professor (Lecturer) Faculty Position
CLASSICAL SAXOPHONE WITH EXPERIENCE IN MUSIC TECHNOLOGY/MUSIC THEORY
RANK/SALARY: Assistant Professor, career-line (lecturer). Salary commensurate with candidate’s credentials and experience.
DUTIES: (1) Work directly with the Woodwind Area Head to make sure all classes and ensembles in the saxophone area are covered and the highest standards of excellence are maintained in the curriculum; (2) help students stay on track to graduate in the various degree plans offered for saxophone majors and minors; (3) teach assigned saxophone and woodwind-related courses which may be include Applied Lessons, Woodwind Instrument Study II (MUSC 1772), Undergraduate Chamber Music (MUSC 4430), Graduate Chamber Music (MUSC 6430), Doctoral Instrument Literature (MUSC 7371), and/or Graduate Woodwind Pedagogy (MUSC 6831/7370); (4) teach assigned music technology and/or music theory courses which may include Introduction to Music Technology (MUSC 1340), Advanced Music Technology (MUSC 3250), Theory Rudiments (MUSC 1100), Theory I (MUSC 1110), Theory II (MUSC 1120), and or Theory III (MUSC 2110); (5) serve on committees, including doctoral supervisory committees; (6) perform other appropriate School, College, University, and professional service. The candidate appointed to this position will report to the Director of the School of Music.
